Is being friends with an ex, a deal breaker if your partner doesn't want you to meet them?

Hi, Sam and Sierra. My partner and I have been dating for over a year and a half.

Initially, in the beginning of our relationship, when they told me they were friends with their

most recent ex. It was a yellow going on border of red flag.

It was something I had many questions about, which I asked my partner.

I have always really seen being friends with an ex as a red flag,

but I understand certain circumstances like one of you is gay now,

or it's been 10 years or you've given

each other space and time to rule out this romantic feelings before becoming friends.
