Greetings, everyone, from Central Virginia. Here's another talk history episode. Today we're going to cover episode 62 and 63. So I'll just call this 63 B. That's okay with everyone.

0:13.0

My guest today isn't a history podcaster like I've had before and once I'll have in the future, but he was involved in a project that involved two topics closest to my heart. World War II and sci-fi. How could we not meet?

0:28.0

So with us today is Luke Whitehorn. How are you doing today, Luke? I'm not too bad. Thank you. How are you? Good. I'm doing okay. And Luke was involved in the movie Iron Sky. I hope you checked it out. I hope you got a chance to see it.

0:41.0

But he was involved in the and I'm not sure what you call it over there. I'll just on this side of the pond. I'll just say special effects.

0:49.0

Visual effects. Visual effects. I'm terribly sorry. It's okay. So don't worry. So would you tell us a little bit about your involvement in that movie?

0:59.0

Okay. Yeah. I was part of the visual effects team that worked out a small town called Tampa in Finland. Finland was where all the visual effects were done.

1:10.0

And I guess the visual effects of the film was split roughly into sort of two categories, I suppose you could call them.

1:20.0

One of those was what's called set extensions. And because the film was done on such a small budget, what they actually did was they just built the set in about five meter radius around the actors and everything else that you see is computer generated.

1:34.0

Wow. Yeah. Which is some pretty cool work. But I didn't do that part of the stuff. That part of the visual effects. I did the spaceships flying around and shooting and exploding and things like that.

1:47.0

That was the best spot. Yeah. Yes. That's what I thought. It was the most difficult part.

1:54.0

And they can check out some of your work at Luke Whitehorn dot com. See some of the photos and stuff like that. I think I was looking at it.

2:01.0

Yeah. That will have my latest show real on and a breakdowns and visual effects. However, it does contain spoilers. So if you, if anyone has attempted to actually see the film, see that film first before you go to my site.

2:15.0

There, you've been worked exactly. I'm glad you said that.

2:19.0

And I also want to second your motion earlier about the fact that I'm not a history podcaster. I am.

2:27.0

In this aspect, anyway, I'm just professionally some guy that you know. So prepare for me to potentially say very stupid things.

2:36.0

That's okay to just make me look even smarter, which is, you know, the only reason I need to have you one.

2:42.0

Exactly. It's my show. I can do whatever I want. No, but you and I, I think you listen to some of the podcast. You email. I mean, we have conversation going.

2:51.0

And so you have a love of history and that kind of thing. And I just thought it would be neat to go in a different angle and just bring someone on.

2:58.0

Almost like a listener, but a well informed listener, not not that I would be opposed to having a listener on the talk history in the future.

3:06.0

I think that could be pretty cool, but so I just wanted to go in a little bit different direction. So that's why I contacted you and ask you to to be with us today.

3:13.0

You should try that one week. Have an ill informed listener.

3:16.0

There we go. I would come process totally brilliant. But anyway, so you've listened to episode 62 and 63.
