My friends Allison Dayton (founder of Lift and Love) and Ben Schilaty (co-host of Questions From The Closet and Author) join us to talk about a new LDS/LGBTQ event called “Gather: Christ-centered support for Latter-day Saint LGBTQ individuals and those who love them”. The conference is on Sept 15th and 16th, 2023 at Utah Valley Convention Center, Provo, Utah. Allison and Ben talk about why they (and others) decided to do the conference, who is invited, goals, logistics, speakers, and their personal hopes for the conference. I was deeply moved listening to Allison and Ben as they shared some of their story and the hopes for this conference. I encourage everyone to attend this conference and invite others. 0:41.3	and what you're doing with Lift and Love and others.

0:49.3	Well, I'm super excited to be with both of you particularly.
0:53.1	And I'm Allison Dayton. I'm the founder of
0:56.1	Lyft in Love, which is an organization of support for LGBTQ individuals and their families.
1:05.2	I grew up in a family with an LGBTQ member, and I have a son who's LGBTQ.
1:12.3	And I've realized that as a mom and watching my mom, but there really is very little support
1:19.6	around moms and families and LGBTQ people.
1:26.6	But my main focus started with moms,
1:30.9	just because I knew that I wasn't finding support
1:33.8	and my mom had no support.
