Welcome to the hardwood Hustle.

Today it is Lisa and I.

Sam is on vacation.

He is taking a well-deserved break.

Lisa is an assistant in Oregon.

She's been with us for many years.

And she had a really good idea for us today.

I talk about things we wish we knew, things we would tell our younger self.

And listen, this list is like really long, like what I would tell myself.

I was a 23-year-old head coach and the things that I would tell myself, we don't have

enough time to cover that.

And then the things I would tell myself when I'm 30 and then 35 and 40, I think this will apply to coaches of any age, especially young coaches, but if any coach,

I'm still learning things from this year that I would have told myself last year. You know,

hopefully not as many as I would have told myself 20 years ago. But the key reason I think this is super important is because

I've said this quote many of times, but there's only really one good shortcut in life, and that's

mentorship. And you can get mentorship from direct people, which is my favorite. You can get it

from podcasts, from reading a book. It's really just learning so that you avoid pitfalls and mistakes.

And so that would be the goal of this episode. Lisa and I are going to share some things that we

think will help you avoid some pitfalls that we've already been through. So Lisa, you want to kick us off?
