I am super excited about this interview. Recently, I had the opportunity to emce the Big Sur

International Marathon. And as I was looking through the leaderboard, I saw the name Serena Berla.

And I thought, I know that name.

And come to find out that Serena, who is a retired professional runner, she was running the race.

And so she won the race in 249.

And we got to do a fun post-race interview.

And now, two weeks after the race, we sat down for an hour-long conversation about, well, first

of all, her experience at the Big Sur Marathon, what that's like running and racing a marathon post-retirement.

Because she ran 249, like she was working hard.

It's just a different kind of race than when she was running professionally.

Serena is a 226 marathoner. She's represented

Team USA multiple times. She competed in the 2017 World Championships in London. She ran her

226 in Osaka in 2017. She also represented Team USA in 2015 in 2009. She ran collegiantly for the

University of Missouri Columbia. And Serena is also a cancer survivor. In 2010, she was diagnosed
