| 0:00.0 | You're listening to the hardwood hustle powered by PGC coaching. |
| 0:08.4 | This week, TJ and Sam take on the challenge of identifying blind spots and how to develop and take advantage of having a growth mindset and coaching. |
| 0:15.6 | Let's get started. |
| 0:19.0 | Welcome to the hardwood hustle, Sam and I back here today. |
| 0:21.9 | And sometimes you just got to bring a conversation that you would normally have and things |
| 0:27.9 | that you would talk about, things that coaches think about and bring it to the show. |
| 0:32.8 | This sometimes makes for some of our best episodes, Sam. |
| 0:34.9 | So, you know, Sam's in town. |
| 0:36.8 | He's actually just two doors down right now, which is kind of weird that we're recording. We're not far apart. But we sat around all night talking. And one of the things that we talked about that I think could be helpful for coaches, Sam, was that a lot of times there's these blind spots where people are just missing something. You know, that could be you |
| 0:54.9 | and that could be me that have the blind spots too. I think we're constantly searching for those. |
| 0:59.5 | But we were having, I wouldn't say, definitely not a third party conversation. We were just talking |
| 1:03.9 | about coaches in general and maybe missing elements like this guy or this girl is really good |
| 1:10.2 | at this, really good at this really good at this |
| 1:11.3 | but then there's this major blind spot let me be more specific and give an example you know of |
| 1:16.4 | you know there may be a coach out there that's like really good like offensively teaching the game |
| 1:22.9 | how to move the ball to share the ball out of cut them and there's like a genius, you know, when it comes to that. |
| 1:28.9 | And they'd be the hardest team in the world to guard if their players were just connected |
| 1:34.2 | because they're doing all the right actions. |
| 1:36.0 | They're doing all the right things. |
| 1:36.8 | But they just have this big blind spot where, like, the culture doesn't matter and the players |
| 1:42.5 | aren't connected. |
| 1:43.4 | Therefore, they don't really feed the open guy they're trying to take too many selfish shots and that's an example of a blind spot like really good offensively and probably that person with the blind spot just thinks i need to get better with offense i just need to tighten this up i I just need to do more drills. I just need more. When really the problem or the blind spot that they have is it like, not like your guys or your girls, they don't just, they're really not connected, you know, like they're not really looking to serve each other. They're not cutting this hard now because they don't think that person |
