For the past few weeks we've looked extensively into the French and Dutch pirates active in the West Indies during the last years of the

Buccaneers, Nicholas von Horn, Mikhail Andresun, and Yulavu, Michel de Gromma, Lorho de Groh.

We covered more than 20 years of history in that time from about 1680 to 1700.

We talked about the end of the Franco-Dutch War, the War of the Reunions, and even the Nine Years

War.

Now though, we need to go back to the beginning of that story. We need to rewind the clock back from the dawn of the

18th century to about the end of the Franco-Dutch War. If you are new to the
