Marianne's guest this week is John Adenitire, who teaches the philosophy of law at Queen Mary University of

London. Because of this particular specialty, he is bringing new ideas to the philosophical

treatment of animals that really go right to the heart of the basic legal problem of treating

animals as property and not recognizing them

as potential rights holders. If you thought you knew everything there was to know about how to

fit animals into the way we think about the world, you may nevertheless find there is something

new to think about here. I love this interview so much. It really

gave me so much to think about. So exciting to see people bringing new ideas to something that,

you know, we thought we had figured out. Nobody else has it figured out, but we thought we did. And it

turns out, yeah, really a fascinating interview. So on this week's flock bonus segment, I'll be continuing my conversation with John.
