Episode 605, interview with Bruce Henderson about his book, Midnight Fly Boys, the American

bomber crews and Allied secret agents who aided the French resistance in World War II.

Mr. Henderson, thank you very much for being with us today.

Good to be here, Ray.

Thank you. So I see that you've written over 20 nonfiction books. You're a former newspaper reporter, magazine editor, and field producer for television news.

So I guess going into writing books is probably just a natural

transition from jobs like that. Well, it was, starting out with newspaper articles for a number

years, and then I wanted to spend more time on the articles, and I became a magazine writer.

And then at some point, I thought, well, instead of spending a month on a magazine article, let me spend a year on a book and get more into a, you know, interesting story. And that's what I've been doing ever since. Right. No, I'm glad you did because I was looking at some of your past books. And I certainly hope we can make some kind of agreement where you can come on the show because you've covered a lot of subjects on World War II and you've gone into detail which books allow you to do

whereas magazines and newspaper articles don't let you do that. So I'm certainly glad that you've done that.

And I'm certainly hoping that where you're at, your weather is a lot better than mine because
