Summary

Today we’re continuing the Behind the Mic series, and I’m so excited to share this conversation with my friend Ali Feller. I know for a fact that almost every one of you listening right now probably tunes into her podcast too—the Ali on the Run Show. Like Tina Muir and I, Ali and I grown up in this podcasting space together. She’s been a consistent voice in the running community, but her influence goes back even further.

Before launching her podcast, Ali built a huge following through her blog, writing about running, Crohn’s disease, and life in New York City. That loyal audience followed her to the podcast, where she’s built a truly massive show and an incredibly supportive community. Beyond the podcast, Ali is a race announcer, live podcast host, and has done broadcasting work with major events. She works closely with the New York Road Runners (NYRR) and the Boston Athletic Association (BAA).

A few years ago, Ali was diagnosed with breast cancer and shared her journey so openly with her community. She continued to work through it all, and the love and support she received from her friends and listeners really lifted her up. We talk about that journey in this episode, along with her career, motherhood, and what it’s like to be on the other side of the mic for once.

Ali is also the announcer for the Boulderthon this fall—one of the fastest growing races in America, ranked a top 10 fall marathon by Runner’s World and USA Today. Think big city energy meets small-town charm, with a gorgeous Pearl Street finish. If you’re planning to run, don’t wait—spots are filling fast! The race is September 28th, and you can save $20 on the half marathon or marathon with the code HEIN20 at boulderthon.org.

If you enjoy this series or anything we’re doing on I’ll Have Another, please consider leaving a quick rating and review. It makes a huge difference. And remember, you can support the show at patreon.com/lindseyhein to get all episodes totally ad free and a day early for just $3/month.

All right, friends—please enjoy my conversation with Ali Feller.
