Summary

For this episode, I was feeling a little too overwhelmed by the week to do a Q&A so instead I decided to talk to you all about breathing. We talk about different breathing exercises and how to practice them so that they are useful to you in moments of stress or anxiety. We cover the physiological mechanism behind relaxation breathing. Finally, we briefly cover mindfulness and meditative breathing.

The tone of this whole episode is a bit more calm and subdued. I hope that it's relaxing as well as informative!

As always you can send me your questions for future Q&As to duffthepsych@gmail.com

what to do about the podcast. I didn't want to dive into a full Q&A podcast mostly because I've been sort of at the

brink of being overwhelmed this week. I wouldn't say that I'm burnt out yet, but you know I'm approaching that and concerned about not getting there.

1:27.2

Main reason being I'm not going to get into too much detail here because I don't want to stress

anybody out or anything like that, but my wife was in a car crash

yesterday and she's fine she has a little bit of whiplash we went to the doctor and

entire situation bystander or passenger was injured. So it worked out as well as it possibly could but our car did get totaled and so I've been dealing with insurance and getting a rental car and getting a new car seat and all kinds of just logistical stuff and then I'm trying to make sure that my

inconvenient. So I've just been trying to pick up a lot of the pieces and do a lot of the work

myself and I'm a little tired little worn out like I said but you know I am happy to be here and I did want to do something for you guys so I thought what I would do in the interest of keeping things mellow is actually talk about breathing.
