Welcome back to the Hardwood Hustle. Sam and I today, we're going to talk master teaching.

You know, we started out, Sam, and started PDC coach. We had five different things.

And actually, it's 125 things coaches need to be good at. Coaches have heard me explain that before.

But we broke it into five real big categories. And it was, you know, leadership, culture, player

development, systems and strategies. And the last one was master teaching. And that's the one, you know, leadership, culture, player development, systems and strategies. And the last one was

master teaching. And that's the one, you know, throughout our time at PGC coaching has had the most

mystery around it. Like, what does that mean? And, you know, it's, look, it's not for everybody

because it takes some time to become like a master teacher and some things you got to get down

basics first. But if you really want to take your coaching to another level, you got to think about

becoming a master teacher. And I think about a coach mentor of mine one time that said, if you'll

just pay attention, there'll be a hundred teachable moments every single day. And it was really

eye-opening to me, like just, okay, and I started looking for those teachable moments every single day. And it was really eye-opening to me, like, just, okay, and I started looking for those

teachable moments, and I realized, holy cow, like, I could stop practice every five seconds

with a teachable moment, whether it was a culture leadership, a systems and strategies,

a skill, a player needed to develop.

I could just stop practice all the time and And just coached my daughter's team and some travel ball this weekend for one of your clubs, BCB, and went down there. And I thought to myself, like, you know, everybody that's been a part of travel ball, there's a lot of frustration in it, right? I mean, as far as like referees, clock running, how much actual playing time there is. And we could go on and on. And I found myself even wanting to be like, oh my gosh, here's the thousand things I would complain about because I really just care about the girls getting better. And there's a lot of things that actually go against that. And we're not even getting in the price you're paying for admission or things like there's just a lot of frustrating things but i i tried to re-centered myself to a place of
