I'm Mikey Campbell and today we have a bit of a special episode in light of recent events.

Namely, Apple has been ordered by a federal judge to assist the FBI in its investigation

into last year's San Bernardino terrorist attack.

The law enforcement agency's request basically calls on

Apple to create proof of concept software that sidesteps its own iOS encryption protocols.

They want Apple to architect a tool that undermines iPhone. To discuss the issue,

we've invited the imitable Dan Dylger.

So, uh, so Dan, this made a big news pretty much everywhere it it busted beyond the text scene

Yesterday and the day before

It even caused or prompted Tim Cook to write an open letter which he posted to Apple's website.

So what is going on? Give me a bit of background on this whole FBI situation? Well it sounds like kind of a routine

situation where the police have a warrant for information they found this phone at the behind of a crime scene and it was a very well-known crime scene.

It was as terrorist who, you know, showed up at work and

obviously a terrible situation.

Now, I can't remember how many weeks it's been,

but they have this phone that they're not able to get into.

And they've been working with Apple,
