This is the Arsenal Vision post-match podcast. My name's Elliot Smith. The Blackmun, me on Twitter, Yankee Gunner. It's time for performance reviews. The boss has called you in. It's time to find out. You know, are you exceeding expectations? Are you meeting expectations? Or dare I say, are you underperforming expectations? I don't even know in the corporate world now, do they have some sort of like participation trophy way of saying that? Like you're, you're nearly there to expectations? I don't know. I don't know what that is. And then, of course, we got to find out. We got to take our personality study so that we know if we lead with, do you lead with blue energy or yellow energy? I don't know We've got to find all these things out. But we're not going to do it for us, the podcasters, because I think we know who's meeting, exceeding, and underperforming expectations. Paul's on Twitter at Posth in My Pants. Hello, Paul. By the way, employees review managers and stuff. so like I don't know if it's the listeners who should, I guess they kind of review us, but also the players should be reviewing our reviews of them and that we suck.

1:59.7

Hello, hello. I likely remembered that. Well, done, so you do listen to me, don't you? I do. I have impressed more than one person in a meeting once with that. I said, you know, one of the things I like to think about when I try to consider where we are in the deal cycle is, are we thriving? Or are we just striving? Or dare I say, are we just surviving?

2:19.1

We don't want to be surviving.

2:20.0

We want to be thriving.

And some of the players did survive this season. Some of them thrive this season. And some of them, you know, are leaving. And that's great. But we are going to review them nonetheless. less. And here's the thing I want to let you know about how we're going to do this review of the players in the season that was, we're probably just going to do a nod of agreement, verbal nod of agreement, because this is an audio medium. For the players that aren't really worth a discussion, not because they're not great players, or interested, but just there's not much to say, we're all going to agree, and you're not here for us to all go, yep, yep, yep, yep. So like Pukaiosaka, we all know he exceeded. We're all going to nod our heads and agree that he exceeded. And I think we'll really dig into the ones where there's maybe a little more meat on the bone from a discussion standpoint. I didn't want to do the one to ten system because I feel like in football, everyone gets a 7 out of 10 because it's safe and it's

3:08.4

easy and it doesn't provoke discussion. And then the letter grade system, you know, there's always

3:12.2

great inflation these days, right? So everybody gets great on a curve. But underperforming met and

3:16.5

exceeded, I think is a good way to summarize whether we feel the player is where they need to be
