The examples T.J. gives in this episode are from earlier in his preseason.

Welcome back to the Hardwood Hustle. Sam and TJ here with you and really excited to talk about this, TJ.

We're going to talk about two C words. And these two C words, I think, are really important if you want to be a great coach.

If you want to be a coach who's both transformational

and a coach who can compete for championships.

And those two words are confrontation and care.

So let's start with the word confrontation.

And I'll start with my opening thought and then turn it to you,

which is if you're

going to be a really good coach who levels up players and levels up your teams, there's going to

need to be a healthy amount of confrontation, confronting players on their effort, confronting

players on what type of teammate they are, confronting

players to get them out of their comfort zone, use another C word.

Like, and confrontation doesn't always have to have a negative connotation, TJ, but

I think I'll leave it at that, that really good coaches are not afraid of confrontation.

Yeah.

It's, yeah, in confrontation, I know it sounds a little bit abrasive.

I don't know if that's the exact right word, but there are going to be moments of friction.

There's going to be moments of, you know, having to have tough conversations.
