familiar with me, I am an active Latter-day Saint, married father of six in my early 60s. We have a

I support our leaders, our doctrine.

I'm not advocating for doctrinal changes,

but I believe we can do a better job to support LGBTQ Latter-day Saints.

And my journey really started last about eight years ago when I was a YSA

bishop and had priested responsibility. And for the first time, really listened to a couple

gay Latter-day Saints tell me about being gay. And I realized my conclusions about this group of people

wasn't based on talking to this group of people.

And I felt a bit of rebuke of the spirit and did what I call a hard drive reset

and have tried to let LGBTQ people teach me and the spirit about this space.

And as my assignment was ending, I felt impressed to enter this space.
