my family because I kept seeing it on our Google Calendar hot lettuce hot lettuce that's

right so this episode was suggested by us during I believe the oyster sauce episode that

we recorded with friend of the show Kenji Lopez all that makes a lot of sense yeah anyway I

mean I think we should also say this episode was suggested by us and Kenji okay yeah and uh

I should we should also say we're getting to the the time of year when it gets like 85 degrees in

the studio and I feel like hot lettuce myself I do too I'm a little willty today if I may say so

also I mean we're recording this episode like two and a half months before it airs so yeah so

now now it's a good good season for hot lettuce when you're listening to it yeah well yeah

but like anytime it's a good season for hot lettuce I should also say listeners you will learn more

about this as we go along but we're talking about more than just like the kind of lettuce you'd put

in your salad I mean we're talking about like bitter greens like radicchio for instance I'm glad

you mentioned that because I wrote on the agenda here is radicchio a lettuce I mean I when you

if you like me um do some research into hot lettuce you will find a lot of mentions of greens

the growing like figure greens that grow in heads yeah close enough yeah um I mean we could

really go straight far down the line from here and get into I don't know I mean like is Guy

Lawn a lettuce but I don't think so I think I don't think anyone's ever argued that it is but

if you want to be the first no I don't really want to what about cabbage is cabbage a lettuce I

don't think cabbage is a lettuce okay but I'll hold on now let's go down memory lane and I'm
