Summary

Patrick and Rob have set their clocks to island time early, as they’ve both been checking out Dead Island 2, the long-waited follow-up to the 2011 zombie game. The crew then laments the death of Media Molecule’s Dreams, and wonders about the future of Halo, following the departure of 343 leader Frank O’Connor. After the break, Rob and Ren have been checking Wartales, a tactical medieval mercenary game that has you balancing the books and emotions of a band of mercenaries. Then, we dip into the question bucket to wax nostalgic over lost bits of gaming culture, and to learn about the secret rules of hockey fist fights.

1:12.3	2011 video game Dead Island. The original Dead Island was made by the studio
1:20.7	that would go on to do dying light, Techland. And I was a huge proponent of the
1:28.6	original Dead Island. Like it was me and Brad Shumaker out on Dead Island Island
1:32.6	just shouting to the rooftops that this was sure a let's call it a culturally
1:39.6	insensitive video game would be maybe the most positive. We're still being
1:45.8	joined on it. We're still being very generous. But we just
1:49.1	discriminatory and harmful. I just think they remember a rap song being a problem. I'm
1:55.6	just going to I don't know the details. I just have some fake memories. Also that was
2:00.1	also the game that had that statue. The statue like well good good Lord. But what was
2:05.9	interesting about that Island and then not shocking at all that they would go on to
2:10.5	produce something like dying light instead of dead Island to was in dead Island. You
2:17.3	had this unique control scheme where you could use the analog stick to specifically aim
