Summary
We’re kicking off a new coaching series here on the I’ll Have Another Podcast where we dive deep into the world of running and the incredible coaches who shape athletes’ journeys. In today’s episode, I’m thrilled to introduce you to Jack Mulaney, the head coach of NAZ Elite. Jack’s journey to coaching is both inspiring and insightful, and I learned so much from our conversation. He shares how he found purpose in his life and the importance of setting intentions every day—a practice that I found very motivating.
Jack began his coaching career as the operations assistant for the University of Minnesota’s track and field and cross country programs in 2015-2016. He then moved to Utah State as the director of operations, where he organized major NCAA events. After that, he spent seven years at the University of Portland as an assistant coach, working alongside esteemed coaches Rob Conner and Ian Solof. Jack holds a Master’s in Sport Management, is a certified strength and conditioning coach, and a USATF Level 3 coach. He’s also an avid runner, having completed several marathons himself.
Jack’s passion for coaching is amazing!! By the end of our conversation, you might just find yourself wishing he could be your running and life coach too! He shares valuable insights into his coaching philosophy and the life lessons he’s learned along the way. We’ve also linked to all our previous coaching episodes in the show notes, so you can dive into more of these insightful coaching conversations.
