Summary

I’m so excited to share this episode with Dakotah Lindwurm! After recording some post-Olympics interviews, I knew I had to bring Dakotah back on the show. This will be her fourth time joining us, and it’s always a blast having her on. She last came on the show right after making the Olympic team at the trials back in February (episode 512), and she’s also been on with Sara Vaughn after the 2023 Chicago Marathon (that was episode 494 if you want to check it out). We also had her on a few years ago after her back-to-back wins at Grandma’s Marathon (episode 398). It’s been incredible watching her journey and seeing how much she’s grown these past few years!

In 2020, Dakotah finished 36th at the Olympic trials with a time of 2:39:08. Since then, she’s completely wowed us with her confidence, gritty training, and contagious positivity. If you’ve ever seen Dakotah race, you know she’s known for that big smile she flashes during her races, and it’s clearly a huge part of her success! Fast forward to the 2024 Olympic trials, where she placed third and then went on to the Paris Olympics, finishing 12th as the top American with an impressive time of 2:26:44 on a super tough course.

And as if that wasn’t enough, Dakotah recently announced she’ll be running the New York City Marathon, which will be so exciting to watch after her Olympic run. She’s sponsored by Puma and she got engaged at the finish line in Paris during the Olympics! I also couldn’t resist asking her a bit about her Minnesota roots, which she’s always so proud of.

I absolutely love Dakotah, and I know you all do too. I can’t wait for you to hear this conversation with the one and only Dakotah Lindwurm!

1:06.8

It has been so fun to watch her career and see how far she's come over these past couple years.

1:13.0

I mean in 2020 at the Olympic trials for the marathon

1:17.0

she finished 36 in a time of 239.

1:21.0

Oh 8 and since then has just blown us all away with the belief in herself, the

1:27.7

grittiness that she trains and races with and the positive attitude that she

1:32.1

brings to both training and racing.

1:35.4

You know Dakota is known for that big smile she wears in her races and it's no doubt that

1:41.8

that's a big part of her story and a big part of her success

1:45.0

So I mentioned that 36th place at the 2020 trials because she placed third at the 2024 trials this past year. I'm sure many of you know that and went on to run in the Paris
