My friend Clayton Rasmussen (Age 21, New York City RM) talks about figuring out his sexual orientation during Junior High and High School and then serving a mission. Clayton talks about his successful mission (including effectively using social media during Covid). Clayton talks about coming out to this mother and father after serving 18 months and then his Mission President (very positive experiences). Clayton talks about what led him to come out and they joy/love he felt afterwards. Clayton also shares some difficult mission experiences. 0:21.7	himself. In fact, this whole story, he recently came home from a mission, successful mission
0:28.4	in New York, speaking Spanish. Thanks for all the good work you did in New York. And is a
0:36.2	BYU student. He's in his first year at BYU, three more years to go.
0:40.8	He's a PR major with a double minor in creative writing and Spanish. We'd love to work at the New York
0:46.8	Times and social media at some point. He's also going to talk about Rainbow Collective, an on-and-off-campus club that he and others have put together.
0:57.7	But we're just sort of inviting you into the middle of if you're queer and LDS being at BYU is sort of the intersection of this.
1:05.7	Of course, the intersection wards all around the country.
1:08.8	I don't want to minimize anybody else's experience, but I think the most of this
1:13.1	conversation is occurring at BYU, and some of it's really good and some of it's
1:16.9	sometimes painful.
1:18.6	And Clayton is in the middle of that intersection.
1:21.9	So I'm just glad he's on the podcast and is willing to share his story.
