radio detectives and crime solvers. It's a milestone I didn't

think I would reach and I really have to thank you for tuning in whether you're a

longtime listener or if you only recently discovered the show.

It is wonderful to share these old-time radio programs that I love so much with you each and every week and it means more than I could ever say that so many of you join me and have continued to join me since this show launched almost 10 years ago.

Today, in honor of 500 episodes of Old Time Radio Mystery,

I'm going back to the show that was my gateway

into the world of Old time radio, the Shadow.

I think this was the case for a lot of old time radio fans who came to the hobby in the days

before the internet when recordings are now so easy to come by.

But the Shadow was released on cassettes and records for years after the series finished its run.

I got my first Shadow Tapes in the fall of 1995 a year in change after the big screen

adaptation came and went without generating a franchise. For what it's worth, I like the 1994 Shadow movie. It's a little messy and there are

times when it can't decide if it wants to be campy or serious, but it's a great looking movie, and I would have liked to have seen

Alec Baldwin and Company get another movie to expand the story.

Plus for my money, any movie with Tim Curry in it can't be a total loss.
