Hello everybody and welcome back to the YouTube News podcast. My name is Benedict Townsend. It's wonderful

to be back here again with you on a very, very special episode. It brings me so much joy to say that

this is the 50th episode of the YouTube News podcast or YouTube and News the podcast. We're 50 episodes in

and even I'm not really sure what the name of this show is. But I can't really believe it,

50 episodes, half a century of shows. And I want to thank you so much for listening, even if

this is your first episode. Thank you so much for listening and supporting the show. And an

extra special shout out to anyone who's been listening since episode one or someone who has

listened to every single episode. You're absolutely zany for doing that.

But thank you so much for supporting the show.

And to be honest, a few weeks ago, perhaps even months ago, when producer Joe,

tipped me off that we'd be coming up to the 50th episode, I thought,

oh, I'll get all these plans in place, I'll get these crazy guests,

I'll get people to call in. I'll get all this stuff.

And then of course, well, you know, 2020 continued to happen. We went in and out of lockdown.

We're back in lockdown now in the UK. And just after a while, I just said to myself, let's not be

insane, Benedict. This is not a time to get anything done. So I've decided today that I'm going to celebrate this 50th

episode with the people who truly matter, the people who've been with me since day one,

and that's you, the audience. So there's not going to be any bells or whistles or crazy stuff.

It's going to be a good old episode with me and you. Please come. Hey, whoa, come back. Why are you already leaving? I thought you would like that. You're all leaving. I've got the live numbers here. Somehow I can see the live listener numbers and they're just plummeting. I've got negative listeners right now. All right, let's just start the show before more people leave.
