A lot of these conversations are pretty private and these women are courageous and vulnerable and transparent and that alone shows us that we're not alone in our struggle.

So in the black community everybody who is your parents friends is your auntie or your uncle or your cousin.

Aunt Kelly came into my life when I was two and she introduced my parents, my mom, and my stepdad.

This week we're discussing my Aunt Kelly being a breast cancer survivor and how her journey through cancer and remission has molded and shaped her life.

What's inspiring about my Aunt Kelly's story is her resilience and how she stood tall through her treatment.

Now she's a voice within the community and she's building community and sisterhood.

The fact that you can come out on the other side,

being a soldier and an advocate for something that threatened your own life is really admirable.
