I'm into the last week now and, as often happens on hikes, the end is coming too quickly for me.

but I've experienced this in such a different way. The feeling of community, particularly in the

first half of the hike, was very powerful for me. And though I'm not

experienced so much of that community since I rejoined the trail in Lyon, there are still moments

that scratch that community itch for me. And that's becoming more and more important, the more and more

our hike. Today we're going to have four days to talk about, as well as a conversation with Beth

and Andrew, as they are now passing, McAfee Knob and into Daleville and beyond.

One of the downsides of staying in a hotel or an apartment is that you're not among other pilgrims.

Consequently, when you want to go out to find something to eat, you feel almost like a stalker
