In the autumn of 1680, an anonymous sloop sailed into Montego Bay on the northwest coast of Jamaica.

scallions.

They lay at anchor for a few days, not moving or making landfall or curringing their ship just waiting.

Now what they were waiting for, we don't know.

Who they were exactly, we don't know.

They weren't some notorious band of pirates under an infamous captain, or we would know more about

them.

It was just a ship, crude by unknown men that waited suspiciously in the Bay at Montego.

After a few days another small ship approached.

Now she was flying English colors and had an official looking crew.

She was a small Coast Guard vessel out of Port Royal and she had come for that anonymous sloop.

But she wasn't there to sink her or arrest the crew, she was carrying a messenger from Governor
