And we are back for an oft requested episode topic.

This was something that has been in our minds for a while as something to do and something we've kind of I think maybe inadvertently

yet a bit purposefully stayed away from and today we're going to be talking about

rape revenge films.

Yeah I think that's really accurate because you know we

announced it and I was looking forward to it I'm so glad we're finally going to

tackle this it's been an elephant in the podcast room we've got to get there

someday where we're finally going to do it, but

then sitting down to do my notes and to do my research, I didn't enjoy working on this

episode, folks, I'm not going to lie, like the first word on my notes is just the word rape, all in caps, and when I typed that out, I kind of stared at it for a while and, oh shit.

It's not a nice topic for us to research. I think this is going to be a complex topic for many of you

to hear. Alex and I were talking about it before we started recording and whatever your

experience, everyone's experience with this is so different.

It probably goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway, that we are going to talk about

rape in this episode, and we are not going to offer anything that the faculty of

horror doesn't usually offer which is to say our personal observations our

personal feelings about the depictions of rape in these films, but we don't endorse any particular reaction.

There is no right and wrong.

I don't think either of these films is particularly correct or appropriate depiction of it and that's that's part
