Welcome to another episode of Kotaku's split screen. It's September 7th, 2016. My name is Kirk Hamilton, and man, a whole lot of news happened today.

Jason and I just finished watching two big press conferences, one from Apple and one from Sony,

both of which had a lot of video game news.

Mario is coming to mobile phones.

Pokemon Go is coming to the Apple Watch, and Sony is releasing a new PlayStation 4 called

the PS4 Pro, which is kind of an awkward name to say if you really think about it.

Those big announcements make up the majority of the show.

We also discuss what is and is not a megaton, the new Phoenix Wright, Gwent, and we have a pretty

good reader's story about being allergic to technology. Stick around.

And we're back with another episode. We are no longer sitting in a hotel room together, but that's okay because it's an exciting day here in Kutakuville.

Can we talk about how you just made us delay recording for like 10 minutes because

you wanted to send out a tweet?

I mean, you can say that, but that would be wholly inaccurate and that would be poor reporting

on your part.

I mean, it was just, you were just like, hold on, I got to get this tweet out, and then we can start recording the show. And I was like, all right, I'm kind of in a rush, but whatever, I'll just sit here and watch as you tweet.

And I got to watch you tweet.

So the truth of the matter is that I was doing about six other things and getting the recording file ready to do since I edit our episodes every week and had a whole bunch of things to do.

But I also wanted to check a tweet and send it.
