Summary

This week, Stacy and Sarah discuss the data from updated vaccine studies in terms of what we knew in previous episodes.  You can find the full show notes with links to the products and articles discussed on this episode here. This is the next part in a series of shows where Sarah and Stacy discuss the science behind the Covid-19 vaccines. Sarah and Stacy will be discussing updated vaccine studies from previous episodes. So be sure to check those out before jumping right in: In episode #440, we examined the history of vaccines, the very real statistics on vaccine-induced injury, and the advances that led to mRNA vaccine technology, along with the inherent advantages of this platform. In episode #441 looked at the safety and efficacy data from the phase 2/3 clinical trials for both the Pfizer/BioNTech and the Moderna covid-19 vaccines, including subgroup analysis. In episodes #443 & #444, we answered listener FAQ, including concerns about adverse events including autoimmune disease, fertility, antibody-enhanced infection, the current state of evidence regarding safety concerns for pregnancy and children. We addressed common myths circulating on the internet. And last week, on episode 454, we looked at how adenovirus vaccines work and the safety and efficacy data from the phase 2/3 clinical trials for both the Johnson & Johnson & Janssen and the AstraZeneca/Oxford University vaccines, including a deep dive into immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (what the news is reporting as a rare type of blood clot). All five episodes took a data-driven approach, presenting the science and facts with context, detail, nuance, integrity, compassion, and as objectively as possible. Stacy reminds listeners that she and Sarah are not medical professionals or here to tell anyone what to do. Their only goal is to pass along the science to allow you to make an informed decision that works best for you.  This week Dr. Sarah and Stacy covered... Welcome back to the whole view episode 455. This week, as promised, in last week's episode,

0:36.0

we are coming back to some real-world data and updated vaccine studies and sharing that

0:44.9

with you. As a reminder, we are covering these topics from a scientific perspective. We

0:52.8

are not medical professionals. We're not giving you medical advice. Our goal is to help

0:56.8

you be an informed and educated individual so that you can have the information that

1:03.8

you need to make decisions. But I would also say one of the things that I loved about last

1:09.8

week's show is how we talked about how it's not just about you, but we're also making

1:15.4

decisions that, in fact, oh goodness, nope, if they don't infect everybody, they impact

1:21.4

everybody. That's the goal is to not infect everybody. And I think one of the motivating

1:30.0

factors for me with realizing that we are a health and wellness-focused show. We have

1:38.0

always talked about the health and safety of everyone on this show is realizing that

1:44.7

the decisions that I personally made, which we'll talk later on about the show, we're

1:48.8

also about making these decisions for others as well as myself. And so I love that it's

1:55.6

something that we can kind of bring into the show. And we can also talk about the studies

1:59.9

and data that we're seeing because of that. And we've talked about vulnerable populations.

2:06.0

This week we're also going to talk about how there are particularly women are often

2:11.3

not specifically studied. And so we're going to talk about some of the data and studies

2:16.1

that are coming from the real world information now from women who are pregnant or nursing
