0:00.0 | Hello, everybody. Welcome back. We got another episode of the PlayStation podcast for you. This is episode 445. You got Tim here. I'm joined by Kristen. Hello. And we got Justin. Hey. |
0:29.8 | Been a while. Yeah, I know it's good to be doing this with you two in person. Now it's been it's been a while just also in a couple of weeks for the show. I know we've had |
0:39.3 | felt we have folks in Japan right now. We've had folks that were just like out on vacation. Yeah, I haven't recorded a podcast in this room since before the pandemic. Oh, wow. Yeah, you haven't been back in the in the podcast room. Yeah, man, busy, busy time. So thanks for everyone holding out for for another episode here. And, you know, as a as a heads up. |
0:58.8 | Um, you know, the TGA's are this week full disclosure. We are recording this before the TGA's happen. So we don't even know about all like the cool things that are happening. So I just say what will happen? Yes, stay tuned. And then perhaps in a future show. We'll talk a little bit more about it. But, um, so if you see, like, feel like there's any glaring omissions. That's what's going on here. Um, but I mean, that said, we, we want to talk about what we've been playing and some other news. Um, but we can just jump right the heck in here with |
1:28.8 | the next week's new release highlights. Uh, always keep in mind that all information is subject to change and without notice. Uh, Justin, would you like to grab this first one here? I would love to. Yeah, we've got the long awaited release. Uh, or should I say re release of crisis core Final Fantasy 7 reunion. This is coming to PS5 and PS4. And this is a new, uh, I'd say it's somewhere between a remaster and a remake. It looks like it's more than a remaster like the character models have been significantly significantly upgraded. There's a few QOL |
1:58.8 | changes. Um, and this is a beloved PSP game originally that tells the story before Final Fantasy 7 tells the story of Zach Fair. So, uh, yeah, any Final Fantasy fans, especially if you're just getting into the series. Um, I mean, not the series. The game of game Final Fantasy 7 with the remake recently. Then this is a good one to check in on to flesh out your knowledge of that universe before the new, uh, episode, new chapter, new release. |
2:28.8 | The new thing of Final Fantasy 7 remake comes out, uh, whatever it does. Do they have a date for that? Is that next year? Who's to say? I don't know. Yeah. Uh, but yeah, it's exciting and like visually bringing it in line more with like what people, you know, saw with the, with the remake of Final Fantasy 7. So, uh, I had a good time with it on PSP. So that'll be great. I'll grab this next one. Uh, this is an exciting one is neon white is coming to PS5 and PS4. Uh, this game is a delight. It's, it's sort of like evoking to me like it reminds me of |
2:58.8 | like this sort of like purity of design of like Dreamcast era games with this kind of cool aesthetic and it's like, you know, a first person sort of it's more like maybe action platform or speedrunning. Yeah. And you have weapons, but it's not like you just blasted away. You're like firing weapons and discarding them and the discard abilities will give you like, you know, an extra jump or a ground pound or some, or you'll turn into like a fireball and you have to piece these, these weapons and discard abilities together to weave your way through levels compete against friends. |
3:28.8 | For time and stuff, it is so slick. And there's like this cool sort of anime inspired story weaving it all together. Speaking of anime inspired, they got Steve Bloom to do the voice of the main character. |
3:38.8 | Excellent. |
3:39.8 | Fans might remember him as the voice of Spike Spiegel in cowboy bebop. That's right. That makes sense. Now, wow. Yeah, I guess I hadn't put that together. But now that you say it, my brain is like, oh, |
3:48.8 | I'm using these two things together. So main lead and bolt storm, I think, was like Nathan Grayson or something. Oh boy, I was a game. Indeed. |
3:58.8 | Christian, you want to grab this next one? Yeah. Maybe the next two, I feel like. Yeah, let's go for that. Hello, neighbor two speaking of the next two. |
4:05.8 | Hello, neighbor two is going to be coming to PS5 and PS4. This is for anybody who played the first one. What a like weirdly delightful game. |
4:14.8 | Like it is you're basically trying to like save some people that have been kidnapped by your neighbor. And as you try to sneak into their house, they are actively searching for you trying to find who's intruding. |
4:24.8 | It is such a strange little game, but so much fun. So I'm very excited for the second one. High suspense, I would say, because you're just constantly like, is he here? Is he going to find me? It's genius. It's like horror for kids, right? |
4:38.8 | Exactly. Perfect. And then, of course, we got the Witcher 3 Wild Hunt complete edition is coming to PS5 for folks who, you know, if you somehow haven't played the Witcher 3 Wild Hunt yet, highly highly highly highly highly recommend like this is one of my favorite games ever. |
4:53.8 | And I had originally passed on it when it first came out. And then it was only until the Netflix Witcher show came out that was like, you know what? It's it's time. It's time to Witcher 5 my entire life. I read all the books. I watched the whole show and then I played this game. And I probably, that must have been what like two years ago now, maybe three. |
5:12.8 | I spent like months only playing like you guys were like, Oh, what do you've been playing? Witcher? Just Witcher, Witcher, Witcher, Witcher. So now having it for PS5 in that complete edition that sort of has all the DLC wrapped into it as well. This is the premium what you're expecting. |
5:25.8 | Sounds like the way to do. I never got around to the DLC. I played the main game, but this is really good. I heard the DLC is really good, particularly. I think it was blood and wine. Yeah, it was really good. Highly recommend. |
5:34.8 | The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt was actually a huge winner in previous. I forget what year it was, but the PlayStation blog game of the year awards. It walked away with lots of words and what whichever year I think it actually won game of the year. |
5:47.8 | That sounds right. I don't remember off the top of my head, but I think it won game of the year. Yeah, what a sensational release that was. |
