Today we'll hear stories of three dynamic detective duos who slotted in date nights in between solving murders.

Up first are Nick and Nora Charles, the heroes of Dachel Hammits The Thin Man.

The novel was adapted for the screen with William Powell and Myrna Loy,

and it was a critical and box office smash.

Five films followed as well as a radio series.

Despite its long run, it aired from 1941 until 1950, only a handful of episodes survived today.

Most of those come from rebroadcasts from the Armed Forces radio service,

including the one we'll hear today, the case of the suspicious hangover.
