And in honor of Oscar Night, today we'll hear an old time radio recreation of a classic film from the golden age of

Hollywood. It's My Man Godfrey, the screwball comedy that starred William

Powell and Carol Lombard.

The movie tells the story of a socialite who finds a hobo on a scavenger hunt and decides

to bring him home as her family's butler.

It was one of the most acclaimed pictures of 1936,

and it became the first movie to be nominated

for all four acting categories at the Academy Awards.

It also picked up nominations for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay.

It's also the only film in Oscar history to get the nods for all four of the

acting categories but to not earn one for best picture. If you've never seen it you're in luck. It's available to stream
