I'm sitting in front of the computer, trying to jot down my thoughts while trying to control my shame and revulsion.

The meeting on Friday at the White House between President Trump,

Vice President Vance, and Ukrainian President Zelenskyy,

was more than a betrayal of a supposed ally trying to fight off a Russian invasion.

It signaled that Trump has thrown his lot in with Vladimir Putin and whatever

Moscow wants, and the Republican Party wants to bulwark against Soviet expansionism goes along

meekly. The relationship between Trump and Zelensky had been turning toxic for some time,

and when he called Zelensky a been turning toxic for some time. And when he called Zelensky

a dictator and essentially claimed that Ukraine started the war, you know whose side Trump was on.

Still, watching the exchange at the White House was troubling and horrifying and shameful. Trump railed at Zelensky for being ungrateful for the help he's gotten.

Vance complained that he never heard Zelensky say thank you for America's assistance.

After it was over, Trump canceled planned events the two of them were going to attend
