When we left off last time, the English Buccaneers led by Captain John Coxon had attacked the fort at Santa Maria.

They'd taken the town and ransacked the mint there of all her raw unsmelted gold.

They'd also rescued the daughter of the king of the local Kuna people, King Golden Cap.

She, along with a few other Kuna women and girls, had suffered terribly at the hands of the Spanish and the garrison.

The daughter, at least, and likely several of the others as well were pregnant

where they hadn't been before.

They were bruised and they were hungry but they were still alive.

The Kuna warriors led by their leader, named Androius, took the women under their care and led a group of those Spanish soldiers into the nearby jungle where they were massacred.

Now the Buccaneers found themselves embroiled in a bit of turmoil here. they were
