Now these films aren't necessarily box office success stories but they are so beloved within the horror canon.

They feel to me like really youthful vampire films.

I think any listener who is at approximately our age has a certain sense of nostalgia about these

films and I think new listeners and new horror fans going back to these films will

find that they still hold up as really fun vampire

flicks. And I think these two films and these two films are of course

Tom Holland's Fright Night and Joel Schumacher's The Lost Boys have not only

the nostalgia that Andrea was mentioning but also such a love for

the horror film and we've talked about this so many times on the podcast of films that

we all consider to be horror films but that the filmmakers are so

reticent to call horror and these films wear that horror badge proudly they are

proud card-carrying members of the horror community. And I think that's partially

the reason why they are so embraced as great films in the horror community on top of being really strong films.
