This is Doctrine in Covenants 115 through 120.

His sacrifice shall be more sacred unto me than his increase.

From the manual we read,

There was reason to be optimistic about the Saints' newest

gathering place, far west Missouri, in July 1838. The city was growing rapidly, the land seemed

bountiful, and it was revealed that a short distance to the north lay Adamondayaman, a place of

great spiritual significance, which we aren't going to talk about,

but you should look it up because it's pretty cool. They say that's where the Garden of Eden was,

and before the second coming, Adam's going to come, give the keys back to Jesus Christ,

and the leaders of the church, the priested, like the apostles and prophets are going to be there.

So part of me just wants to get like one of those little white vans and fill it up with a bed

and go just sit there and like watch, wait for all of them to come.

You know, like, hmm, is it happening?

Is it happening?

But I'm not going to do that.

That would be crazy. But when they say it has

a spiritual significance, it does. And I've read so much history about this lesson and there's just

no time to put it all in. So that's your cliff notes on Adam on Diamon. But back to the manual, it says, still, it must have been hard for

the saints not to think about what they had lost. They had been driven from independence,

the appointed center place of Zion, and the chances of returning anytime soon probably seemed
