On this episode of Newt's World this is the third episode in our three part series about China

and we're focusing on China's warming relationship with Russia. In June 2019 China's general secretary

Xi Jinping met with Russia's president Vladimir Putin during a three day state visit to Russia.

The occasion was to mark the 70th anniversary of China Russia diplomatic relations.

Both countries engaged in tense talks to deepen their political, defense, and trade relationships.

In fact Xi Jinping has met with Putin 24 times since 2013. During their June meeting

Xi referred to Putin as his best friend and presented Moscow's zoo with two pandas.

As the United States engages in an ongoing trade war with China and has put sanctions on Russia

for their annexation of Crimea and US election interference we ought to be very concerned
