Summary

Kelly Jaworski hiked the AT in 2021 with a former guest of the show, Stuart (Puppy Love) Phelps. I reached out to her when I saw her epic summit photo on Facebook. She returned my invitation to the show a year later!! She had an excellent excuse, though; she was having a baby.

Kelly came on the show and demonstrated that, even though we walk the same path, even when we hike with the same person, our perspective informs our story, and those perspectives are often so different.

She doesn't use social media extensively, so she suggested I repost Stuart's Instagram, in which she figures extensively. https://www.instagram.com/stuphelps/.

We lose another member of the Mighty Blue Class of 2023 this week, when we catch up with Ron Ward, Steve Kortekamp, and Mark Carpenter. You'll have to listen to find out who's gone home.

Trail, the ultimate mid-life crisis. I'm Steve Adams on Mighty Blue and we've got another

0:45.0

very full episode today. First up, our main guest is Kelly Jaworski or Birdie. Kelly was the

0:51.5

hiking partner of a previous guest. I won't say who yet.

0:55.1

I wanted to feature Kelly because, as I've often said, you can hike with somebody else from

0:59.1

beginning to end, yet you're going to have your own unique experience.

1:03.5

Kelly proves this emphatically, so much so that I started to think about that very issue,

1:07.8

and I think I may have opened up possibilities of lots more guests in the

1:11.1

future as they shared their story after I've heard from their hiking partner. Kelly will be on shortly.

1:17.4

Then our Mighty Blue Class of 23 sadly loses another member. I catch up with three of them today.

1:23.7

First up we'll heard from Ron Ward followed by Cordercamp, then Mark Cotmentor.

1:28.8

One of those is back home, while the other two are still moving on.

1:32.6

I know that many of you are still enjoying the incredibly detailed story by George Staphanos,

1:37.7

and for me, it's been a pleasure to read, record and edit.

1:41.8

Unfortunately, last week, our show was inexplicably truncated by one of our

1:46.5

dynamic ad inserts. As you're doubtless aware, the show now has either one or two hours before

1:51.8

I introduced the show, then another one or two after the show ends. Well, the head company got a

1:57.5

little over enthusiastic last week and cut off the last minute or so when I was

2:01.7

mid-sentence. Bloody rude if you ask me. Anyway, several of you pointed that out, so thanks for that.

2:07.6

I've re-uploaded the entire show, so all should be well going forward, but for those of you
