And that is by trying to play fair.

Fairness is not fair to your relationships.

Why?

Why is it that fairness doesn't work?

Well, Dr. Claude's going to go into that in this short highlight here, but one key reason is that it requires perfection, and it requires perfection that none of us can live up to. To improve problematic situations in our relationships, we have to rise above the issues in order to fix them. We can't ask the issues to work themselves out. And the only way to do that

is to get above the injustice and fix the issue at hand rather than trying to litigate the problem.
