On this episode of Newt's World, the White House warned this week that Russia's invasion

of Ukraine could happen at any time. The build up of Russian troops on the Ukrainian border

has challenged the Biden administration's global military strategy and a fascinating

thing happened last week that caught my attention in much of the world.

Russia's president Vladimir Putin met with China's president, Xi Jinping, in Beijing, as a show

of solidarity between the two countries. Right before the start of the Beijing Winter Olympics,

it was the first face-to-face meeting Xi has held in nearly two years with the world leader.

While many Western nations called for a diplomatic boycott of the Olympics,

there was Putin standing right next to Xi, flaunting his relationship with communist China

to the rest of the world. And the question of many minds in the West right now is,

how far is the Biden administration willing to go to defend Ukraine's border against the Russian

invasion? And will they stand up to China's threats towards Taiwan? We seem to have come to an

initial face-off with NATO and the Western Democratic nations on one side, and autocratic Russia and

China standing in solidarity and thumbing their noses at us. How we manage these global challenges

moving forward, I think is a real test for the entire world and will in fact define a great deal
