Mary, you ready for Lent?

You know, Father John, I think I've been ready for a while now.

I can't flipping wait for Lent to get here, quite honestly.

I've been, I love this season, and for whatever reason, I just feel like this is a time that I've been eagerly

anticipating.

You know, before we hit record, you and I were talking about the wisdom of the rhythm of the church.

Like God knows what we need when we need it.

And so he knows our hearts.

Yeah, I remember talking to a non-Cathlet Christian friend of my once about the church year.

They just didn't understand it.

And I just shared, you know, there's, it's impossible to meditate on all the mysteries of our faith

constantly.

And so there's just a beauty to setting aside extended times of the year where that's all we do.

We're just going to focus our attention on the passion, or we're going to focus our attention on looking at ourselves or asking the Lord to look at us and where we can get even better, where we've kind of grown slack. And that's,

that fits in perfectly with what we're continuing this week. We mentioned last week that we're

starting a little series on Jesus's letters, quote unquote letters, his words to the seven

churches that are found in Revelation chapter two and chapter three. And after a little intro

last week, we're going to dive today into the first letter. But given all that, what's our

topic for today? So our topic is an exhortation and encouragement from Jesus to us as we prepare

for Lent. And that sounds pretty straightforward to me, Father John.
