I'd like to begin today with a retraction. Last time I said that Sir Henry Morgan arrived in Port Royal aboard the

Jamaica Merchant and that's not the case. Now he left England aboard the Jamaica

merchant but that wasn't the ship that brought him home.

It was actually the vessel of a disreputable English privateer that brought him in.

Now this raised a lot of eyebrows in Jamaica.

Morgan was of course a former buccaneer, an Admiral among the brethren of the coast.
