All right, everyone, welcome back to another episode of the Human Performance Outliers podcast.

0:13.5

I'm your host, Zach Bitter, and today I have a guest interview for you today.

0:17.3

Today's guest is Christian Morgan.

0:19.1

Christian's actually a returning guest.

0:20.6

He came on earlier

0:22.4

for episode of 338 where we talked about some of these long haul ultramarathons where

0:27.7

multi days probably not even doing it justice because some of these are like literally

0:32.9

weeks, if not months. So specifically we were focusing on the Appalachian Trail with Christian because he had

0:38.4

been on that one for three attempts, I believe at the time, which is a 2,200 mile stretch. So people who

1:05.9

So Christian now has the second fastest time on that trail, which I believe was 44 days,

1:11.8

four hours, 54 minutes, and just recently got the fastest known time for the southbound,

1:18.3

which is 45 days, four hours, and 27 minutes.

1:23.3

So I wanted to see what all that entailed.

1:25.4

It was an interesting discussion because apparently

1:29.1

the conditions just weren't great relative to what he's seen in the past yet he managed to get

1:34.1

through it quicker. So it's fun to kind of dive into some specifics and add to some of the stuff

1:37.9

we talked about on the previous episode. So Christian's here to chat about all things long haul
