So, we're back again. For those of you who might not know,

I was based in Asheville, North Carolina. We were right in the path of Hurricane Helene.

I and my people were all safe, but it was disruptive. We didn't have power or water or internet access for some time.

This was all compounded by a neat little wrinkle, being that I was right in the middle of moving.

Basically, I'd just moved all my stuff to a new house

literally the day before Helene hit. And then, for about a week, travel was impossible. And for

another week it was highly discouraged if it wasn't, you know, life-threatening. So for a while there,

Things in Asheville are better now, though still nowhere near normal.

However, I do want to mention the amazing work being done by FEMA and the National Guard.

I mean, it's hard to describe or really even understand the feeling when you see a caravan of water and diapers and baby wipes and food and formula, all being escorted by soldiers and armored trucks.

I mean, there was some cool stuff. Like it was really neat to see the Chinook helicopters, you know, those with the two sets of blades dropping off supplies right in the middle of town.
