The Monster Rebellion, Part 24.

Hello again, patrons, and thank you for supporting the History of the Crusades and Reconquista

podcasts. Last time we saw the Bishop Prince commence his attack on Munster. Henry Gresbeck's plan was put into effect, with the result that when we left the last

episode, a military commander from the Bishop Prince's army named Wilhelm Stedding had successfully

led a total of 385 soldiers into Munster under the cover of darkness and a nasty storm.

You might recall that the plan was for Stedding to lead his men to Munster's Cathedral, which housed

the city's arsenal. Secure it, then proceed to the Holy Cross gate.

Stedding would then open the gate, allowing 3,000 soldiers commanded by Urik von Dorn into Munster.

The soldiers would secure the city, the siege would be at an end, and the bishop prince

would win.

Well, that was the plan.

Now, as we mentioned at the end of the last episode, so far, everything had proceeded perfectly.

A total of 385 soldiers had crossed the moat via the temporary bridge,

had scaled Munster's outer wall using ladders, and had proceeded into the city via Henry Gressbeck's secret entrance.
