Rich, how are you?

Good, Andy. So I'll ask you what I asked my colleagues on the editors' podcast. So where were you

when the U.S. men's hockey team won gold in 2026?

I was in front of my television set in the windy city at seven o'clock in the morning. And I didn't miss one minute of the last two games. They were just

unbelievable. And I, Rich, I'm one of the few remaining at

National Review who could tell you exactly what bar in the Bronx I was in in 1980 to watch the

American Olympic hockey team beat the Russians.

Yeah, I was too young to be at a bar, but I was in front of my, I believe it was a black and white TV watching in 1980.

And I don't think this event does not compare with 1980.

But it has been huge.

I've been enjoying the outpouring of adoration for these guys. And it has been pretty

awesome. I've watched every single different angle of the goal. They're all equally good.

And I just love seeing the celebrations and bars and other places, and especially the youth

hockey players who were out on the ice that morning. And when word came down that the US had won and the scene those kids celebrate is so great.

And then all the highlights set to various, you know, jamming patriotic style music,
