Hey, everybody. Welcome to You Were Born for this podcast with Father John Ricardo and Mary Guilfoyle.

We're a couple of missionaries at Acts 29. And this is the podcast where we talk about how acquiring a biblical worldview brings us great hope in the God who created and rescued this world in order that you and I can be agents of transformation and recreation.

Mary, when we recorded last week, everything that has happened, obviously, in the time since,

had not yet taken place.

It had not.

And it just reminds us how quickly life changes on a dime overnight.

So we're in the middle, if you can remember, or early on, I should

say, in this Easter series that we're doing on the resurrection. And I actually think the passing

of Pope Francis affords us a beautiful opportunity, not only to talk about how we can honor and

pray for him, but also how we can continue our understanding

of the mission of the church, because the mission of the church and the mission of the Pope kind of

flow together, don't they? Absolutely. I couldn't agree more, Father John. So given all that,

the topic for today is eternal rest, grant unto Francis, O Lord. Amen. Let's pray that. In the name

the Father of the Son, the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Father, we just commend into your hands right now again,

your good and faithful servant, Francis.

We pray that you would reward him for the good that he has done,

that you would be merciful to anything that might need your mercy.

We pray that if he is not yet home, that you will speedily bring him there.

We pray for the church in these days.

We pray for the cardinals as they gather in Rome.

We pray for whoever that man is who's known only in your mind right now that you would be preparing him for the mantle that you are going to place upon his shoulders.
