0:48.5	Today you will be talking to us about ECDC's new expanded mandate and the new regulation on serious cross-border threats to health.
0:56.3	These are two regulations that will have a significant impact on the way that ECDC works and
1:00.7	also the way that Europe responds to health threats. So maybe we should start off just looking at
1:06.1	the COVID-19 pandemic. Would you say that this was a trigger for the reinforced mandates and the new
1:12.3	regulation on series cross border threats to health? It was definitely a trigger for this whole
1:18.4	legislative package because it encompasses the lessons that we learned in the first year of
1:26.3	this pandemic. These first months showed us that
1:30.2	in the end, we were not so prepared as we thought. And that is true for almost everybody.
1:38.1	All countries, the EU level, I think we all found elements that we could improve.
1:45.4	And these legal proposals incorporate these early lessons learned.
1:53.1	Can you then explain a little bit?
