We will be discussing how this outbreak has spread, what makes it unique, and what we can do to protect ourselves. So today we are joined by Connie Adelhoch, principal expert for coronavirus and influenza here at ECDC.

Is it just one strain or is it similar to the flu in people where we see different strains?

So what we have been seeing over the last three years, we have ongoing avian influenza outbreaks in wild birds, but also

then spillovers to poultry. And what we have seen over the last years is an expansion

of the geographical area that has been affected and where detections have been made in Europe,
