And the purpose of the book, obviously, is to bring voice to LGBTQ Latter-day Saints

so we can better help them on the road.

And Valerie is doing that.

My guest, let me transition.

And my guest on today's podcast is my friend Valerie Payne.

Valerie is a licensed clinical social worker,

and it's been in private practice for a couple years.

And some of her clients are LGBTQ Latter-day Saints.

So she understands this space

and has been thoughtful about this space,

as well with lots of other spaces. Valerie is a return

missionary. She served in Peru. She is single in her mid-30s. She got a degree from BYU in theater

and then a master's in social work. She started a podcast, which we'll talk about in this podcast called Finding

Unity. It's a great podcast. I love the title. I love the focus. In a way, our podcast kind of

overlap. And I really want more people to connect with Valerie's podcast because she's doing

great work and has had wonderful guests on her podcast. And I think's podcast because she's doing great work and has had wonderful

guests on her podcast. And I think Valerie, what she's doing is just consistent. We're coming out

of October general conference where our leaders talked a lot about unity. And so I think sometimes
